My boyfriend and I are planning to vacation on Grand Bahama Island from Nov.18-Nov.23. We were just planning on hitting the beach and getting a tan to take a break from classes. After doing some research...I am concerned about the weather. Is it hot, sunny, and good for going to the beach?? Please help so we can figure out what to do! Thanks!

Yes, I am sure you will enjoy yourself. It is better than during the summer, when, while the water is super warm, it is soooo hot that you literally fry unless you are submerged.

Although that's good too, sometimes. :)

Best tanning times at this time of year are between 11:00am and 3:00pm.

I have a vacation scheduled for December 4-11, 2004, at Ritz Beach Resort. Will the resort be open? Also, what condition is the Freeport airport? Are surrounding areas up and running or still being restored? Are there restaurants open in the area? Please give me any information that you can! Thanks!

We are taking a cruise to the Bahamas the 1st of December. We are beach people and want to go to a beautiful beach? What is the weather like? How would we get to Paradise Island from the pier in Nassau? What beach do you suggest in Paradise Island? Is there a way to just visit the Atlantis while going to the public beach in Paradise Island? Any information will be helpful as this is our first trip to Bahamas.

Thanks,

Hi,
We are planning on visiting Nassau in Nov. and were wondering how the weather is like. Also, is it possible to visit Atlanis while staying in another hotel? What other attractions are also recommended during this time? If you have any suggestions please let us know.

Thank You,

Hi,

Yes, you can visit Atlantis even though you are at another hotel.
We stayed there last summer and it is a beautiful place. Lot's to
see. The grounds are very nice, be wary the food is expensive
if you are not on one of their meal plans.

Have Fun!

Hurricane season "officially" ends at the end of November. It is rare for significant storms to occur right at the end of the season but it certainly has happened before.

Aside from that, I don't think anyone can predict the weather for November this far in advance.

Well, technically, I believe they may call that the "rainy" season. But that's only because it sometimes doesn't rain at all during the other season.

The Bahamas in December is usually quite lovely.

We want to go to Atlantis in Paradise Island during the week of Christmas, 2006. What is the weather like around that time of year. Would like to fly from Albuquerque to Florida and take a ship/boat to Atlantis. Is that possible? Or can we fly into Paradise Island from Florida?

Xmas week books up quickly, so I would book asap. Also, I believe there is a minimum stay this time of year. Check the website for details.

Weather is iffy. If there's a cold front, it can be quite cool, if not warm and sunny. The water is a bit brisk this time of year, especially if you are from a warmer climate.

There are no ships/boats that ferry between Florida and Nassau/Paradise Island. (except the cruise ships). You can fly from Florida to Nassau and then take a cab to paradise Island. Nassau and Paradise Island are connected by bridges.

You should be fine, as long as you stay out of the direct sunlight. Humidity in November is not bad at all. Now, August, that's another story. :)
