We love visiting different islands in the Bahamas and plan another trip soon via boat. I would like to know if you could please tell me the best pre-paid phone card for calling from the Bahamas to the United States. Some I have purchased in the past will not work. Thank you for your help.

Does anyone know this answer as this is my exact question. I need to know what calling cards work from Paradise Island Bahamas to the USA? I will be going there in a couple of days.

Is it less expensive if I purchase the card there? Can I purchase the card there?

You can buy your calling cards here. The Bahamas has its own government-owned phone company, so your cards from the US will not work.

You can also use a special number provided by ATT (available in all free tourist literature) that enables you to connect directly to their US phone system. Then, you can use your Mastercard or Amex as a phone card.
