Hi, I'm staying at the Wyndham Resort and Casino on cable beach. Is there anything that is a must do when I'm there?

What are the best nearby places to eat? I heard the frozen drink place across the street is pretty good.

I'm going to be there Thurs 6/2/05. Are any special events planned for this time period that are worth goign to?

Also, is there anywhere I can get groceries or snacks in case I don't want to go out to eat for every meal? Thanks in advance.

One thing I always recommend, is to visit the National Art Gallery. It is an excellent cultural experience and a visual treat.

Also, arriving in June, you could attend the Junkanoo in June activities at Arawak Cay. See our Bahamas Calendar for more information.

For food, try Cafe Johnny Canoe and the Kalik Cafe. Both restaurants are close to your hotel and offer excellent Bahamian and American food.

The frozen drink place across the street *is* pretty good.

To get groceries or snacks, you can wander on down to the City Market supermarket, about 1/2 mile west of the Wyndham.

I am coming to the Bahamas on 7/31, I know Aug. 1st is a national holiday there. Are all the shops closed? What about tourist attractions, snokelling trips, etc? Thanks.

I just got back from Nassau and had a fantastic time on both the powerboat adventures trip and the Cove sub trip. Totally worth every cent! Visit the straw market, too.

Most stores and tourist attractions will be closed on August 1 (Emancipation Day). Some of the shops on Paradise Island and in the big hotels will be open.

Perfect day for the beach.

Many of the excursions, like Powerboat Adventures and snorkeling trips, will also be open. Use our Bahamas Directory to find contact information if you need to confirm with any particular company.
