Until tonight I'd always heard there was no such thing. But there are several posts on a cruise message board from recent visitors, all of whom claim to have bought a wrist band for $25 per person to use the pools and other facilities at Atlantis? Can you confirm or deny this information?
Thanks much!
Lisa

Ahh, the coveted "Atlantis Day Pass". Locals and visitors alike are seeking them. Unfortunately, they are very hard to get because, fortunately, (for Atlantis and The Bahamas) the place is always booked out.

When their occupancy levels are high, Atlantis discourages the use of such visitor passes as they want to keep the facilities open and available for their overnight guests. And lately, their occupancy levels have been continuously high. Hmmm, maybe that's why they are building like crazy over on Paradise Island, with plans for thousands of new hotel rooms.

Try contacting the resort ahead of time and see if it is something that can be arranged. Although, the best thing to do, if you want to enjoy their facilities, is to stay at Atlantis. :-)

Little known secret... if you stay at the Comfort Suites, next door to Atlantis, you can gain access to most of what Atlantis has to offer in a special arrangement between the two hotels.

We tried to get a bracelet or something and the HELPFUL (haha) people at atlantis said there were no such things. You have to get a day rood WHEN AVALIABLE to do or see anything for $150-250 per day. We were in Nassau for a week and no day rooms were ever available. You can pay $30.00 each to see the aquariams, and $30.00 each to see the dig.
The day we went to Atlantis and were not allowed to do anything was the worst day of our stay in Nassau.
We were very dissapointed and felt like we wasted the entire day.

Marcie, so would you recommend visitors NOT go to Atlantis and take the scaled down tour?

I don't want to waste a day (and round trip cab fare) to NOT be allowed to do anything other than oggle.

What do you think?

Eddie,

I think visiting Paradise Island, even without access into the bowels of Atantis, is a great experience. I take all my Nassau visitors there, at least once, for an afternoon of fun. They all say it was a thrill, just to see the place.

You should cab or ferry over to the island from Nassau and have lunch at one of the many great restaurants there. Visit the shops, explore the Junkanoo Crafts Center, check out Cabbage Beach and get a preview of the casino and the excellent marina. That's a lot of walking but it is fun and healthy to do so.

Also, there are areas of Atlantis, available to the public, where you can view their giant aquarium. You can take photos through the huge glass windows that make it look like you are actually underwater. I have a great shot of my son looking a shark in the face.

Last time I was there with a visitor from the US. We were walking through the casino on our way to the big aquarium and my friend, on a whim, put a dollar bill in a 25 cent slot machine. She bet three credits, pulled the handle and won nearly $30. We had a delicious lunch at the NY style Deli and ice cream at Jimmies. lol

Can you visit and look around the resort Atlantis? Or do you have to be staying there? I wanted to just look around and go to their shops, not use any of their pools and such.

Yes, you can use the Casino, shop in their shops, hang out in the lobby and walk around the Marina Village. You cannot walk around the grounds, use the pools/slides etc. You can buy a pass for $29 for the DIGS underground aquariums and viewing tubes. This pass does not entitle you to access the rest of the facilities, just the DIGS and lagoons.
There's security around the grounds checking for color coded ID bracelets.

Day passes for Atlantis are no longer available. What they do now, is rent you a room for the day. I think it costs about $220 per day and accommodates up to four people. I am not sure what the charge would be for extra kids.

You can call them at: 242-363-2000.
