Leaving for honeymoon Sept 2 - Sept 9. Anybody been to Nassau recently? What's the weather like? The extended forecast says rain every day. Does this mean all day? PLease help. I know Sept isn't a great time to go but it was the only time I could get off from work. Anybody who has been in September in past years or has been there recently, please help. Any info would be much appreciated

Sept. weather is usually good. Rain is in brief showers, not all day. Sept. is still hurricane seasson but you have plenty of warning of those.

Not sure if you were able to fly in or not. I understand some flights to The Bahamas have been cancelled due to the imminent arrival of hurricane Frances.

I was going to tell you that September is usually fine weather, overall, and that even when it rains there's still penty of sunshine every day.

However, today, tomorrow and Saturday will probably be pretty lousy weather as the storm will be affecting both Nassau and Grand Bahama in a big way.

After that, who knows. It may be a case of just mopping up, or there may be serious damage that would takes weeks (even months) to repair.

I am sure it is frustrating to have planned a "vacation in Paradise" only to arrive in the middle of weather like we are experiencing now.

I am certain that every attempt will be made to ensure your safety and provide you all the comforts you would expect from a first class vacation destination. Bahamians have a knack for pulling together during a crisis and the safety and comfort of visitors is a national priority even under extenuating circumstances.

Indeed the hotels in Nassau are probably the safest place to be in this town during a hurricane.

Members of the Bahamas Hotel Association (which include the best hotels in The Bahamas) have made specific arrangements to accommodate guests who are affected by the storm, including a special cancellation or postponement clause.
