We are lacto-vegetarians and do not eat seafood, chicken, meat, etc. We are staying at the Atlantis from 12/22 - 12/26. We would appreciate any informatipon about where we can find vegetarian food (pasta, salads, pizza, veg sandwiches) at a reasonable price both on and off Atlantis. Thanks for your help in this matter. More info: Bahamas | Bahamas Vacations | Bahamas News | Bahamas Real Estate

Dear Annoymous tourist, Atlantis resort itself offers a varitey of vegetarian choices at the market basket restaurant. The choices are ok(pasta, salads, rice, baked potato, soup etc) the portions are unlimited. This is a good spot for either breakfast, lunch or dinner. The atmosphere is casual. Good place to eat your meals for a day or two. Atlantis room service also features some vegetarian items (pizza, salad and pasta). On the marina there is a place called murray's deli which is quiet nice and offers some vegetarian items:grilled cheese sandwiches, omelettes, mashed potatos, mozrella sticks etc. A wallet friendly place(compared to Atlantis), with pasta, pizza etc. on Paradise Island, is Zio Gigi's in Hurricane Hole Shopping Plaza (242)363-2403. Walking distance (15 minutes) from Atlantis, call ahead, make sure they are open. if you go to Nassau there is a good Indian restaurant called the Clay oven. Taxi cab ride one way (regardless of passenges was $28 without tip dec 2005 from Paradise Island, atlantis). The food is good the ambience and decor are ok, and the staff is friendly and helpful. Try some power drinks from a place called jamba juice(also on paradise island), as an alternative. We also saw people getting pizza delivered to the resort from Papa John's and Domino's. If you are really adventerous, there is a Yoga Retreat Tel: (242) 363-2902 that also offers vegeterain food. However we did not try this as we found the above choices adequate for our 4 nights/5 day stay at Atlantis. More info: Bahamas | Bahamas Vacations | Bahamas News | Bahamas Real Estate
