In December you can go barefoot, enjoy the sun, and be happy that you're not sitting somewhere in snow and ice. Early December is warmer. If you want to get in the water and stay for a long time, take a wetsuit top with you. The water is cool but you can swim. I would say the daytime temperatures are anywhere from 80 - 90.
