I say that because, despite the roof being blown off in the hurricane, the vendors never left. Every day they are there plying their straw goods.

Frankly, it is a nicer environment now that the tacky tarp covering is gone. It allowa fresh air and sunshine to visit the cramped quarters that the straw vendors have been forced to work in since the "real" Straw market was destroyed by fire in September, 2000.

Despite numerous promises to rebuild the market, the government has yet to make any effort whatsoever to actually do that, much to the annoyance of the vendors.
