ZOZO

During the war in Beirut, a young boy and his family are waiting for his exit papers to move from Lebanon and to seek refuge in Sweden. The film shows the horrors of the war and its effects on the civilian population. Even in the most serious situations, there is room for laughter.

Spirit of Freedom Documentary Award

La Sierra
Scene from La SierraThe film follows three young people over the course of the year in La Sierra, a neighborhood of Medellín, and shows their experiences with war. The strife in Colombia's civil war has been growing for forty years and has claimed more than death and love: the barrio's de facto mayor Edisón Flores, a 22-year-old leader of the Bloque Metro: Cielo Muñez, a teen mother widowed at the age of 15 and 19-year-old Jesús Martínez, a dutiful paramilitary soldier, who has adapted to life without the hand he lost to a grenade.

Antibodies - Directed and written by Christian AlvartEvil is a Virus. An insidious killer is arrested in Berlin after a bloody shootout with the police. The man had slaughtered and then had sex with at least a dozen boys. While the authorities can prove this, there may be more victims that they are unaware of. A young upstanding policeman from a village outside of town is drawn into interrogations, but the killer’s sick mind-games begin to unhinge him and his worst nightmares seem to be coming true.
