The Mia G Brand was developed in 2002, producing reconstructive wear. Reconstructive wear is any clothing ideas created using already existing pieces, producing a more updated or innovative look. Also using fabrics or scarves to create different pieces, simply by tying or pinning together. This is how Mia G was discovered, by a local store owner and was called on to be a personal stylist.
The Mia G Brand has definitely evolved from non-stitched, reconstructive wear to fully tailored pieces and interior decor. Mia G began creating duplicates that were eventually sold in clothing stores throughout Nassau. The original title was Goth Mistress also known as GeM designs. For entertainment value, Mia G would showcase fashion tours throughout the Bahama islands, exuding a gothic/dominatrix feel. This style was very original and unfamiliar to the typical Bahamian fashion industry and usually brought about great excitement.
The inspiration for The Mia G Brand was simply a great love for fashion.
