The All Bahamian award-winning children’s island adventure TV series, Goombay Kids’ season 4 comprising 6 new episodes has secured a worldwide distribution deal with the Roku Channel which has a reach of up to 120 million viewers and is in the top 5 performing, streaming platforms in North America. The new season has been airing on ROKU since mid-November and will soon be airing all seasons on BLK FAM, a new platform by Whoopi Goldberg.

Goombay Kids is proud to be the #1 rated live action children’s show in the Caribbean as well as the longest running, episodic narrative show in The Bahamas created by Bahamian born producer Stephanie K. Nihon who remarked on the recent distribution, ‘This is really a great moment for Goombay Kids and The Bahamas. We keep extending our reach and are very proud to now be on Roku worldwide and be able to show the world our talent.’

The series has won 15 International Awards to date, notably the Cannes World Film Festival, and most recently the Atlanta Children’s Film Festival & Chicago International Children’s Film Festival. An episode directed by Bahamian director, Maria Govan, was also screened at the recent Bahamas International Film Festival held at the Baha Mar Resort. Goombay Kids aims to revolutionize Children’s television through promoting the importance of Culture, the Arts and the Environment, for the next generation. Now with a 38 episode library, which covers many curriculum topics, Goombay Kids recently wrapped production this summer for its 5th season which will premiere in 2025. The production has employed over 350 Bahamians to date.

Under its educational initiative the production has embarked on a new project – The Goombay Kids School Tour- in September of this year to introduce kids across the country to the locally- produced television series. As the tour progressed, the show has successfully reached a number of schools including Sprouts Montessori, The Harmony Experience, St. Anne’s School, Palmdale Primary, Blairwood Academy, Genesis Academy, Lyford Cay International School, and The homeschooling Association.

The series can be found on numerous other streaming platforms: Season 1, 2 and 3 in North America, Caribbean and Canada on Battery Pop, Tubi, Happy Kids, ToonGoggles, Redbox, Xumo, Roku, AppleTV, Amazon Fire, YouTube Kids, OurTV, Pavillion Plus and Gan Jing World (Globally). And Season 3 and 4 will also soon be airing in North America, the Caribbean and Canada on BLK FAM TV, Africa Channel in North America, AppleTV, AmazonFire, CTV (LG, Vizio, etc – launch TBD), Demand Africa, Xumo, LG TV, Netgem TV, Local Now, The Grio TV, KlowdTV, TCL TV, and Xiaomi.

What’s next for Goombay Kids? Goombay Kids recently released a Signature coloring book, and shortly after, a Surprise Treasure Chest which hit shelves around Nassau, in June of this year. Goombay Kids Merchandise can be found at Bahama Pearl at LPIA, Fab Finds, Jet Nassau Airlines, The Craft Cottage, The Prescription Parlour Pharmacy Carmichael Road, Logos Bookstore, and The Emporium at the Albany Resort. The production is now in the process of creating spin off animations with an established animation producer, as well as more songs with Bahamian musicians.
