Mexican game maker Fotorama de Mexico recently picked Atlantis, Paradise Island as the chosen isle to promote their newest product, “Inguesulandia.” This island based Mexican board game features Adal Ramones on the cover- the host and producer of one of Mexicoメs most popular TV shows, Otro Rollo.
Recently, the Otro Rollo and Fotorama crews joined forces to film a commercial about the board game and several television show sketches at Atlantis.
Fotorama de Mexico makes board games, puzzles and toys, and has been in the Mexican market since 1961. Both located in Mexico City, Fotorama and Otro Rollo frequently collaborate on various projects to endorse each other. In fact, Fotorama is no stranger to airing promos during the three to four hours variety show, which is described as “A mixture of David Letterman and Saturday Night Live,” by Mr. Jose Zavala, Marketing Director for Fotorama.
After an unforgettable honeymoon, Mr. Zavala suggested Atlantis for the companyメs latest venture. He explained that the rest of the Fotorama crew had been looking for an island destination near Mexico to shoot the commercial for the board game. “However,” he went on to say, “As soon as they saw the videos of Atlantis, there was no doubt that they wanted to do the promotion here.”
The four-day project, which began on August 28th, brought a total of 38 persons from both companies. Otro Rollo crewmembers were occupied with filming sketches for the show that would consist of various scenes around the entire property, while Fotorama concentrated on obtaining enough footage for the promotion of the new board game. While on location, the crews shot a variety of scenes that involved signature Atlantis attractions such as The Dig, Rope Bridge and Paradise Lagoon. They also got some exciting shots of the eagle rays and shark feedings.

Mr. Zavala stated that the commercial would air on Otro Rollo during November and December of this year, the peak toy-selling season. Otro Rolloメs sketches at Atlantis will also air during those months and can be viewed in the United States on the cable Spanish channel Univision.
Mr. Zavala commented that unfortunately this time his trip to Atlantis was more of a tease to him than anything else. However, he was quite pleased with Fotoramaメs final decision to use the resort, “I think that it is a great experience for Fotorama because it is a huge promotion of the best product that we have right now.”
Fotorama is planning to enhance the “Inguesulandia” promotion within the Mexican market, by offering a free trip to Atlantis in the spring of next year to ten lucky persons that purchase the winning board games. “They will have the opportunity to travel to the resort with Adal Ramones who is also considered to be the most famous artist in Mexico right now,” said Mr. Zavala.
