What may have seemed an unlikely duo proved to be smart business. Bahamas Fast Ferries and Oceanic Bank and Trust partnered to promote The Bahamas as a tourist destination and as a leading business centre. A 150-strong group of lawyers at Atlantis for The International Offshore Caribbean Law Conference was hosted aboard the Bo Hengy to a coastline cruise including a sea view of the financial institution Oceanic Bank & Trust on West Bay Street.
The influential travellers enjoyed music, catering by Buena Vista, cocktails and hors d’ouvres while learning of the vacation options and business services in Nassau.
Bo hengy general manager Captain Harvey Sweeting said he applauded the PR initiative taken by Oceanic Bank & Trust and hoped more companies would see the benefits of hosting events abord the Bo Hengy. “We’re very flexible and the Bo Hengy is suitable for all kinds of events, trips and parties.” Bill Thomson, vice president of investments at Oceanic Bank & Trust said this was the first time the conference had been held in Nassau and the Bo hengy was the perfect way to showcase some of the beauty of Nassau while promoting the financial services to them.
“This is a professional group of lawyers who could well benefit our economy if they return as tourists or if they choose to use the many products and services of the offshore banking industry through such financial institutions as ourselves.”
