A Bahamian engineer was recently selected as one of 16 women worldwide to receive a prestigious International Women’s Forum Leadership Fellowship award. The award is given to women whose influence has improved the economic, educational, social and cultural life of The Bahamas.
Receiving the award is Sonia Brown, Project Manager, Sun Atlantis. Brown worked at the Ministry of Public Works for seven years prior to joining Atlantis with responsibility for capital expenditures earlier this year.
The fellowship will allow her specialised leadership training at Harvard University and at Cambridge in England along with mentoring and exposure to other leaders in politics, business and community affairs.
