The Attorney General's office is currently working on the possible prosecution of several foreign and unlicensed realtors who do not have permission to sell property in The Bahamas.
Without naming those under investigation by the Attorney General's office, David Morley, president of both The Bahamas Real Estate Association (BREA) and Morley Realty, said yesterday that several matters were currently before the Director of Public Prosecutins in connection with foreign realtors allegedly attempting to buy and sell property in The Bahamas without getting a license or following the appropriate regulations.
Mr. Morley said tthe selling of Bahamian real estate by foreign entities and by persons not properly licensed was a serious issue that BREA is actively pursuing.
"We have a monitoring committee whose responsibility is to identify any individuals who are practising real estate without a valid license here in The Bahamas."
