In a long winded, rambling tirade, an angry Bahamian woman, Ms. Phillipa Russell, says Bahamians “have no idea of the exent of US mischief.”
Calling last years’ attempt to ammend the constitution of the Bahamas, to include gender equality, an “ungodly proposal”, Ms. Russell goes on to say that the overburdoned Bahamian court system is due to extradition requests from the United States.
Comparing the legal systems of the Bahamas and the United States, Ms Russell reminds readers that the Bahamian system is one where the accused is “innocent until proven guilty,” implying that the US has some other system.
In what appears, to some, to be a veiled endorsement of Osama bin Ladin, the editorial states that Mr. bin Ladin was “provoked” into his attack on the US because of their “reckless assaults upon other societies.” She also warns Bahamians that they “MUST” defend themselves against the “Big Brother strong arm tactics” of the present US Ambassador.
