Bahamian Bandana Bandits Nabbed in S. Florida

Two Bahamians, among three men suspected of several robberies in Broward County during the past six months, were arrested Monday night while leaving a Tamarac pharmacy they had just held up, the Broward Sheriff's Office said.

Brent Turnquest, 20, of Davie, and Kareem Penn, 17, of Tamarac, both originally from The Bahamas, were nabbed by deputies at a Walgreen's at 8197 N. University Drive about 11:30 p.m., the Sheriff's Office said. They have been charged with armed robbery and armed kidnapping.

A third suspect, who has not been named by detectives, is being sought.

The three are thought to be responsible for more than a dozen robberies in Fort Lauderdale, Davie, Plantation and Coral Springs by a trio wearing masks and bandanas.

Anyone with information on the crimes or the third suspect is asked to call the Miami Crime Stoppers at 954-493-8477.
