Cartwright Case Remains Open

Although a man has been sentenced to death, police have not closed the 1996 murder case of Club 601 manager Joyanne Cartwright.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Reginald Ferguson told The Tribune yesterday that “investifgations are continuing.” He declined to comment further.

Although the trial of Ashley Newbold, the man accused of Ms. Cartwright’s murder ended last Thursday with the 29 year-old being sentenced to death, police are now seeking his co-conspirator. Newbold was charged with being involved with another in the murder.
