Romance Writers Fall In Love With Atlantis

Ten journalists and correspondents from various American based publications were recently given the opportunity to experience a romance-based holiday at Atlantis, Paradise Island.

The four-day, three-night trip aimed to acquaint the journalists with the wonders of Atlantis, a task easily accomplished with a detailed itinerary that identified the components essential to the perfect romantic get-away.

The journalists, accompanied with their significant others, traveled from areas ranging from Boston to Arizona, and represented mostly bridal publications including the Boston Herald, Bridal Guide, Bride & Groom, Desert Living, Hamptons/Gotham, Modern Bride, New York Daily News, Portland Bride and Groom, Scottsdale Magazine and The Knot.

Although the writers attract the same sort of audience, the resorts diverse array of attractions and activities, enabled the journalists to pursue different angles in order to satisfy their readership.

After settling in, the group enjoyed a property tour with Rachela Tirelli, Atlantis’ Public Relations Manager, who highlighted the many special features of the mega resort.

Later, for relaxation and rejuvenation, each member was given the opportunity to experience the many services at the newly revamped Mandara Spa at Atlantis.

Also corresponding with the romance theme were the romantic lunches and dinners-for two, scheduled for the couples throughout the trip in one of the resort’s 35 restaurants, bars and lounges.

The evening activities included invitations to view recently released movies at the Atlantis Theatre and the comedy show, featuring Kevin Pollack at the resort’s Jokers Wild Comedy Club. For those who wished to continue on into the night, the highly-energized atmosphere in the Caribbean’s largest Casino offered them an exciting evening of gambling or dancing in the nightclub Dragons.

The participants were given ample leisure time to absorb, relax, reflect or recover from the night in the Casino before meeting for more excursions suited to each couple’s taste. Some opted for a day of shopping in downtown Nassau or throughout the hotel’s many shopping areas. Others chose a half-day excursion to Blue Lagoon Island, compliments of Jacharic Holdings, for a relaxing day of sun-tanning and non-motorized water activities.

The last evening began with a sunset dinner cruise aboard the Seahorse catamaran, compliments of Seahorse Sailing Adventures, and ended with a farewell cocktail reception on the patio of the Five Twins restaurant.

Director of Public Relations, Sandra Eneas, enjoyed meeting the group and familiarizing the journalists with some of the treasures to be discovered at Atlantis.

“Press trips allow media to experience Atlantis first-hand as well as share their experiences with fellow journalists. Atlantis is an experiential resort . . . the only way to actually understand its concept and fully appreciate the architectural beauty and all of its wonders are to actually see it. There are no press kits or releases that can do the resort justice.” said Ms. Eneas.
