A considerable number of visitors may be lured to the Bahamas after the April 13th premiere of the TNT thriller, “Framed”.
The show starts at 8:00 p.m.
Portions of the movie, starring Sam Neill (Jurassic Park) and Rob Lowe (The West Wing), were filmed on location at the Atlantis Resort, Ocean Club and other Paradise Island sites.
Senior Manager of The Bahamas Film Commission, Angela Archer, said the scenic images of The Bahamas that last several minutes, will equate to several millions of dollars in marketing for The Bahamas over a number of years.
“In many ways, having The Bahamas seen in a movie is far better than purchasing advertising for the country on major networks and cable channels,” Ms. Archer said in a release issued to The Guardian Thursday.
According to Ms. Archer, whenever “Framed” is seen, viewers will get the chance to see the blue seas, the sunny climate and the hospitality that The Bahamas offers, which are all the things that the Ministry tries to highlight in its television advertisements.
“What is so good about it is this movie could be aired several times per year for the next 10 years. So facilitating the production of this move here was a solid investment in the promotion of The Bahamas,” she said.
The Bahamas Film Commission Senior Manager further stated that “Framed” has provided a wave of promotion for The Bahamas even before its premiere date, as an Atlantis vacation sweepstake publicized by TNT has captured the attention of the cable channel’s viewers.
The winner of the sweepstake will receive a luxury vacation at Atlantis’ Royal Towers for four days and three nights.
Ms. Archer added that there are many ways in which the Ministry of Tourism and industry partners can benefit from film production in The Bahamas and the Ministry has reorganized the Commission to make it even more effective in attracting movie-makers to The Bahamas.
