Residential and business monthly phone rates will be increased to make way for lower, longer long distance rates for prepaid card users.
Phone services for residential lines will be increased from $10.75 to $15 per month and business rates will jump from $21.25 to $30.
Bradley Roberts, minister responsible for The Bahamas Telecommunications Company, said the rates, the first in more than 30 years are being increased in order to rebalance BTC's rates.
