Police Put Brakes On 72 Bus Drivers

Seventy two bus drivers were ticketed yesterday, as the Traffic Division continues its month long crackdown on public drivers.

Sgt. Marlon Fulford told The Tribune that yesterday’s roadblock in the downtown area went “very well.” This month, traffic officials focus on public vehicles as part of their year-long campaign to clean up the streets of Nassau.

He said the drivers had committed a variety of offences, ranging from not having the proper drivers licences, to to hindering the flow of traffic, to stopping in places other than designated bus stops, to not wearing proper attire required of a public driver.
