Twenty-Year-Old Is Country’s 16th Murder Victim

Family members of 20-year-old Carlton Newry, who was stabbed to death at Cocktails and Dreams on Friday, becoming the nation’s 16th murder victim, are questioning the story reported by club manager, Stafford Fowler, and are demanding a “true account” of events that led to his fatal stabbing.

It was the opinion of family members that security officers aided in the fight rather than trying to stop it. They were still trying to come to grips with this “family tragedy”.

It was reported by Mr. Fowler, that Mr. Newry went outside onto the patio and asked a security guard for a drink. The security guard replied he had no money, then Newry and three of his friends ganged up on the guard to fight him. A short while later Newry fell to floor bleeding.

Mr. Newry’s cousin, however, claims the fight started when Newry ran into a high school acquaintance in the club.

“He had a grudge against my cousin and he started the fight,” the cousin claimed.

The cousin then claimed that security officers joined the fight during which Newry was stabbed.
