A 45-year-old man was remanded to the Marsh Harbour Police Station after being charged in the island’s magistrate’s court with burglarising the house of a 93-year-old woman and beating her severely in the face
Charles Robert, originally of Nassau, is facing charges of burglary and causing grievous harm.
It is alleged that Robert, on Sunday, April 27, broke into the elderly woman’s house with intent to commit a felony.
And he allegedly beat her in the face, inflicting severe injuries.
Robert was not required to plead to the charges on Thursday and was denied bail.
A preliminary inquiry has been set for July 16.
