Tourist Killed In Boating Accident

What should have been a weekend of fun in the sun turned out deadly for a 61-year-old tourist when he was killed in a boating accident on Saturday evening.

William Lee Todd of Ormond Beach, Florida, was vacationing in Green Turtle Cay, Abaco, when his boat collided with another boat in the harbour.

According to Supt. Hulan Hanna, Emerson Macintosh, a 16-year-old resident of the island was returning a relative’s boat to the dock following a trip to Treasure Cay shortly after 9pm Saturday.

On it’s way to the dock, his boat somehow collided with Mr. Todd, who was aboard an 8ft dinghy. Both men fell into the water.

After Mr. Todd failed to resurface, concerned residents dived in and pulled his body out of the water. He had suffered lacerations to the forehead. A nurse on the island pronounced him dead.
