Water And Sewerage Drama

Water and Sewerage Corporation’s 50 middle managers walked off the job yesterday morning and descended on Parliament Square, only to return to work at the request of Labour Minister Vincent Peet, who assured them that the industrial dispute would be resolved.

They were protesting what they described as the “tyrannical” behaviour of Chairman of the corporation, Abraham Butler. They claimed that ever since Mr. Butler was appointed to the corporation’s board by the PLP government one and a half years ago, he has treated the staff with disrespect.

They are vowing to to refuse to work with Mr. Butler and negotiate with him as long as he is chairman of the water corporation.
