The theme of his one-man campaign was “Bahamian justice stinks”. After a ten year wrangle with local attorneys, he claims the local legal profession is inefficient and negligent.
His grievance began over what he regarded as the mishandling of a property dispute. Since then he has waged war on lawyers and has now established 30 web sites criticising them.
“I have been here for three months trying to make progress and have not been able to take one step forward,” he said.
“This is a frustration for every foreign investor and I feel I am a prisoner of the Bahamas legal profession.”
His decision to wear a chain was to illustrate that fact.
Mr. Fuhrmann said he had asked Governor General DAme Ivy Dumont to press for an inquiry to quell growing concern over some lawyers’ inefficiency and negligence.
He alleged that local attorneys are involved in a “buddy” system and that Attorney General Alfred Sears had failed to address the problem.
After demonstrating on Rawson Square, Mr. Fuhrmann said he had many sympathetic comments from locals and tourists.
