Dengue Fever Cases Confirmed

Department of Public Health Director, Baldwin Carey, although not specific about the area in which the dengue was detected said there were no confirmed cases in the family islands.


In addition, the ministry has also increased its surveillance for the West Nile Virus as there continues to be reports of dead birds in many of the islands.


Upon encountering a dead bird the public is asked to contact the Ministry of Agriculture.


The public is advised to take the necessary precautions to prevent mosquito bites by using window screens, insect repellents and earing long-sleeved clothing.
