FEDEX Express Takes The Industry Lead

FedEx Express transports more than three million packages daily, and connects more than 210 countries, which, together, generate 90% of the worldᄡs gross domestic product.

Based on statistics from the 2003 edition of the International Air Transport Associationᄡs World Air Transport Statistics, Air Cargo World magazine reports that seven of the top 10 airlines grew by double-digits in 2002, with those carriers commanding more than 50 percent of the global market. Leading the industry in the number one spot, FedEx cargo traffic grew more than 20 percent over 2001 with nearly 13 billion freight-ton kilometers scheduled in 2002. This makes FedEx the world leader in cargo traffic by a significant margin over any of its competitors.

FedEx is also ranked as the sixth airline for international freight traffic in 2002, with more than 4.6 billion freight-ton kilometers scheduled.

FedEx attributes its leadership ranking in part to the companyᄡs focus on facilitating global trade by providing its customers free counsel on export processes, supported by advanced tracking and supply chain management technology available free at fedex.com.

FedEx Express Latin America & Caribbean Division services more than 50 countries and territories throughout Latin America and the Caribbean and employs more than 3,000 people committed to total customer satisfaction each business day.
