Hitmen Target Officer

He said the blaze was a “hit” by cronies of a prisoner who gave instructions from his cell on anunauthorised cellphone.

Now he is calling for police protection saying government must pay more attention to security for prison officers.

Assistant Superintendent Neville Adderley alerted authorities to his safety concerns after his truck was set ablaze in front of his home early Friday morning by unknown assailants.

Mr. Adderley told The Tribune taht a drug lord at the prison ordered the hit by using an unauthorised cellphone because he is not allowed to have “his own way” at the maximum security section of the prison.

Mr. Adderley is the director of the maximum security section at Fox Hill Prison where several high-profile drug lords are held.

Mr. Adderley said prison officials seized a hacksaw in the same drug lord’s prison cell.

The officer believes the burning of his truck is just the beginning of “intimidation tactics” that will be used against him and other senior prison officials.

He is calling this a “gross act of intimidation” and said it is being done because he is “not for sale”.
