Waste And Insurance Companies Teamed To Keep Streets Safe

Seven days a week, the company’s fleet is on the streets of New Providence from 3:30am until as late as 8pm, and according to Operations Manager Ethelyn Davis, management views driver safety as a priority.

“It is key that we raise the level of safety awareness among our drivers, so we teamed up with our insurance company, JS Johnson, to provide a series of seminars. We believe the more safety conscious our drivers are, the more comfortable the motoring public will be with our trucks on the roads,” Mrs Davis said.

JS Johnson Manager of Life & Employee Benefits, Tanya Woodside, is pleased that her client takes safety so seriously.

“It’s obvious that Bahamas Waste is taking safety seriously, but what’s important about these seminars is the need to make sure the drivers understand that safety doesn’t start and end with the employer ラ they have to be responsible drivers, too,” said Ms Woodside.

The most recent seminar, held at the Bahamas Waste headquarters on Gladstone Road, featured Jason Moxey, Deputy Director of the National Insurance Board. He spoke with the drivers about the various programmes and benefits offered by NIB.
