Builders say Country Sand Company has not been able to provide enough sand to met their needs after the main barge malfunctioned and the crane on the smaller barge failed.
They report that the problem has increased in recent months, but it has been plaguing them for about a year.
Operations at large and small construction projects alike have been slowed, going past deadlines, because sand is a amjor component in several phases of construction.
The company is providing some sand, but contractors sai it’s not nearly enough to meet their demands.
