Lawyers And Businessmen Charged With Forgery

Lawyers Peter Andrew Bowe, 50, and Fedner Joseph Dorestal 32; along with businessmen, Bryan Douglas Knowles, 47, Shayne Malcolm Knowles, 40, and Sean Michael Munroe, 25, were charged with conspiracy to commit forgery, forgery, and possession of forged documents and uttering forged documents.

The men appeared before Chief Magistrate Vera Watkins in Court #7.

Authorities alleged that between April 2002 and July 2003 the men were concerned together with intent to defraud.

It is also alleged that the men had in their possession a quantity of forged documents including Barclays Bank banking forms, Nassau Industrial Group Share Certificates, a certificate of incorporation and an annual business license, an appointment of bankers companies form for Nassau Industrial Group Limited knowing that they were forged.

It was further alleged that Bryan Knowles and Sean Munroe uttered a forged document on April 2002.

It is alleged that the two men concerned together uttered to the Registrar Generals Department Companies Section, situated at East Hill Street, a quantity of documents, the minutes of annual general meetings, resolutions of directors letter for transfer of Nassau Industrial Group Limited, and declarations of five annual returns for Nassau Industrial Group Limited knowing that they were forged.

Bryan Knowles, Shayne Knowles, Fedner Dorestal and Peter Bowe were also charged with conspiracy to commit forgery.

It is alleged that on June 20, 2002 and February 3, 2003 the men together conspired to commit the indictable offence.

They were charged with forging the signature of John William Lefler on five conveyances for Love Beach properties limited conveying to B.D.K. Holdings Condominium units B3, B7, D1, D2 and D3 at the Palms of Love Beach situated at West Bay Street.

The men were granted $15,000 bail each with two sureties. They are expected back in court on February 26 for formal arraignment at which time they will appear before a Magistrate in Court #3 Nassau Street for a preliminary hearing.

All of the men except Mr. Dorestal were represented by attorney Desmond Bannister.
