Between June 10 and Sept. 7, and beginning again Dec. 15, American Eagle will operate one flight daily with its new 70-seat CRJ-700 regional jets.
“Longer-range regional jets, such as the CRJ-700, have allowed us to add service to destinations we couldn’t serve previously,” said American Eagle President Peter Bowler. “Our brand-new 70-seat regional jets are the right size aircraft to serve this market. I am very pleased we will be able to offer nonstop service from Dallas/Fort Worth to the Bahamas, making this great resort destination just over three hours away.”
“I am excited about our opportunity to expand our operations in Nassau,” said Godfrey Basden, new country manager for American Eagle in Nassau. “For U.S. travelers, the Bahamas is a first-class tourist destination, while the addition of service to Dallas/Fort Worth also provides Bahamian travelers an attractive link to the central and western U.S. via Americans largest hub.”
American Eagle is the largest carrier in the Bahamas, with 31 flights to Dallas/Fort Worth, Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Orlando, Tampa and Raleigh/Durham, operating from four airports in Nassau, Freeport, Georgetown and Marsh Harbour. The carrier recently added flights to Nassau and Georgetown and introduced regional jet service in the Bahamas with Raleigh/Durham weekend service, which began on Jan. 31.
