Furious German investor Harald Fuhrmann, who has waged a long website war against ‘corrupt and incompetent’ Bahamian lawyers, has given the government ten days to act on his concerns or face the consequences.
He told The Tribune yesterday that he has a new strategy that will shift his damaging public relations offensives into a higher gear – and cause the Bahamas even more embarrassment.
Mr. Fuhrmann, who has launched 60 websites attacking the Bahamas for alleged legal corruption, widespread criminality, anti-foreign attitudes and misleading advertising, is now set to break new ground in his relentless campaign.
Mr. Fuhrmann, whose trouble with Nassau lawyers began with a property transaction ten years ago, held a press conference yesterday to outline his gripes and protest the continuing silence of government and the legal profession.
Mr. Fuhrmann wants to meet with government officials to urge judicial reform and the appointment of a legal ombudsman. He feels the system is currently set up as a “protective wall” for lawyers and ought to be exposed to public scrutiny.
