This was told to the Commission of Inquiry yesterday.
The allegations that the officer, a resident of Chippingham, sold the drugs to Knowles came during the testimony of Sgt. Philip Moxey, who is attached to the Intelligence Unit of the Drug Enfocement Unit.
Mr. Moxey claimed he had received information concerning the exchange between Knowles and the officer “from an informant who called the Intelligence Unit and had the voice of a male”.
The allegations concerned not only the officver’s involvement and sale of drugs to Knowles, but also the alleged crediting of cocaine to a” shady character” by another Defence Force officer.
The Commission heard the officer credited several kilos of cocaine to one Chucker Thompson. It was claimed when Thompson refused to pay the officer for the drugs, several other officerd turned up at Thompson’s residence and conducted a search for the drugs.
