When the Fantasy cruise ship carrying openly gay passengers docked in New Providence Tuesday, there were no demonstrations or protests similar to those seen in 1998.
Some callers to Love 97’s Issues of the Day praised the arrival of the cruise and others ridiculed the strong stance taken by the Bahamas Christian Council against the arrival of the boat.
One caller said she resented that the Bahamas Christian Council appeared to be speaking for the whole country.
The BCC has made it clear that they will not welcome “this or any other gay cruise”.
The ship spent the night in Nassau and was expected to leave this morning to return to Port Canaveral, Florida.
