A local pastor was released on $15,000 bail yesterday after being arraigned in Magistrate’s court for having sex with an 11-year-old girl.
Derek Dalano Campbell, 39, of No. 29 Davis Street was charged with one count of sexual intercourse with a minor.
Ironically, just one week ago a large group of obviously hypocritical pastors from around the Bahamas marched on Bay Street to terrorize gay tourists while one of their own was comitting an unspeakable act.
Court reports allege that on Tuesday, July 13, Campbell had sexual intercourse with the young girl.
He was not required to enter a plea and will reappear in court on Tuesday, July 27.
The case was before Chief Justice Vera Watkins.
Sgt. Nathan Mackey prosecuted.
