Bahamas Prepares As Hurricane Frances Approaches

As Hurricane Frances makes its ominous approach towards the Bahamas the country has been preparing for the arrival of the category three storm and its devastating winds of up to 135mph.

At 5pm yesterday Hurricane Frances was moving at 14 miles an hour and was 1,180 miles southeast of Nassau.

The islands in the southeast which should expect to be affected are the Turks and Caicos, Inagua, Mayaguana, Crooked Island, Acklins, Long Island and Ragged Island.

Should the need arise Mr. Dean said that Cat Island, San Salvador, Eleuthera, Exuma, New Providence, the Berry Islands and Abaco will receive a watch by Wednesday morning.
