Bahamas Web Awards Raises Standards for Bahamas Web Design

This year’s entries for the Second Annual Bahamas Web Awards competition represent some of the highest profile, highest traffic web sites relating to The Bahamas. The Web Awards contest, sponsored by BahamasB2B – The Bahamas Portal, is the leading national honour for the best among Bahamian web sites.

The prestigious annual contest invites web site owners and designers of Bahamian-related web sites to enter their sites for a chance to win the designation as ”Best in The Bahamas”. The Grand Prize is a custom designed trophy sculpture created by internationally known Bahamian sculptor, Antonius Roberts. This is the second year that Mr. Roberts has donated his time to create the stunning top award. Last year’s award sculpture went to hgchristie.com, who also won two other awards.

”I would like to thank Bahamas B2B for hosting the awards and making them such a success. They are an energizing force in the Bahamas online community and we really appreciate Bahamas B2B.com as a strong resource for our company,” said Mr. Christie upon accepting last year’s award.

Again this year, BahamasB2B, with the assistance of other sponsors such as Cable Bahamas, The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism, Benelda.com Web Design and The Bahamas Hotel Association are helping to raise the standards of Bahamian Web design and forging an online community which has assisted in the development of the Internet in The Bahamas.

”We congratulate Bahamas B2B and the other sponsors,” says Niki Bright, Marketing Director for the Bahamas Web Awards. ”We appreciate their exemplary support and demonstration of civic responsibility.”

In addition to receiving the custom designed first-place sculpture, this year’s awards winner will be featured by BahamasB2B in on-site banner ads, Bahamas Newsletter promotions and international press releases.
