Bid To Overturn Extradition On Dwight And Keva Major

Lawyers for Dwight and Keva major are planning to apply for a writ of habeas corpus to overturn Magistrate Linda Virgill’s decision that the couple must be extradited to the US to face drug conspriacy charges.


Under the Extradition Act the couple, who both stand accused of conspiracy to smuggle drugs into the US, have 15 days from Friday’s ruling to apply for habeas corpus – a hearing to test the leaglity of their detention pending extradition. The Majors are represented by Keir Starmer, QC, as well as T. Langton Hilton and Jerom Roberts. Francis Cumberbatch represents the government.
