Lyford Cay Resident Suffers Seventh Break-in In Eight Years

Mrs. Sibilla Clark was reading in bed in her Lyford Cay home when suddenly there was a thundering, then a sound of shattering glass.

Although Mrs. Clark, three rooms away from the broken kitchen window, did not hear the noise, she knew something was wrong from her barking dachshund.

As she was getting out of bed to investigate she saw two masked men dressed in black coming through her bedroom door. One had a gun.

Contacted at her Hibuscus drive home yesterday, Mrs. Clark confirmed that last Sunday’s break-in was the seventh at her Lyford Cay home in eight years. However, it is the first time she has been at home during a robbery.

Mrs. Clark said they turned her over in bed and tied her hands behind her back. She was left lying face down in the bedclothes with the gunman standing over her.

She was satisfied that this was not the first time for one of the men, who seemed to know his way around her home and exactly what he was looking for and where to go to find it.
