The Bahamas is preparing to welcome the new United States Ambassador, John Darrell Rood.
Ambassador Rood, a frequent visitor to the Bahamas since his youth, is due to arrive in Nassau today at 9:30am.
Speaking with The Tribune yesterday, US charge d’affairs Robert Witajewski said Ambassador Rood’s first order of business will be to present his credentials to Governor General Dame Ivy Dumont.
Mr. Witajewski explained that Mr. Rood cannot fully assume his responsibilities before he is officially accredited.
