PLP Trashes Constitution, Gives Deadbeat MP Another Chance

With all the important challenges facing the country, which Parliament should be debating, the PLP government of Perry Christie decided to waste a day trashing the constitution and protecting an MP who should have been booted from the House months ago.

In an act of utter foolishness, the likes of which Bahamians haven’t seen since the PLP Parliament praised Neville Wisdom for blowing a million dollars on a bleacher-kickback scam, the selfish, out-of-touch members of the House of Assembly have allowed a con artist to remain in Parliament.

Sydney Stubbs, who allegedly conned a woman out of $80,000, apparently with the help of the former disgraced elected-dictator, Lyndon Pindling, has been granted an extension, allowing him to remain in the House of Assembly, despite being declared bankrupt by the courts of The Bahamas. By law, a bankrupt person is not allowed to represent the people of the Bahamas. But this is the PLP… to hell with the law!

The other group of political bandits, the FNM, protested by having their ilk parade about Rawson Square. With Carl Bethel as their Party Chairman it is ironic that they would complain about corruption in the PLP.

The PLP has shown utter disrespect for the Bahamian people and a lack of decorum in Parliament. It is not the first time, and until this group of political gangsters is removed from office it probably won’t be the last.
