Police have launched an island-wide man hunt for a cold blooded killer who gunned down a young mother and injured her daughter as they got off a jitney in broad daylight yesterday afternoon.
Angelo Ron Brennen, 36, alias “Nasty” is wanted for questioning in connection with the shootings of Ruthmae Alfreda Pinder, 34, and Kalvonia Grant, 15. He is described by police as “armed and dangerous”. Police believe he may have known the victims. The crime appears to be either domestic or drug related.
According to police, Ms. Pinder, a resident of Churchill Avenue, and her daughter Kalvonia were shot on Farrington Road shortly after they got off a public jitney. It is believed there were numeorus witnesses to the incident.
Ms. Pinder was shot in the chest and Kalvonia in her left thigh. Ms. Pinder died of her wounds at Princess Margaret Hospital. Kalvonia was listed in stable condition last night.
The gunman was said to have fled the scene in a vehicle immediately after the shootings.
The police have apparently located the vehicle the gunman used to flee the scene, although they would not say where they found it.
Angelo Brennan, who police believe may be able to assist them in their investigation is a resident of Yellow Elder Gardens. He is described by police as 5′ tall, 190 pounds with black hair and a medium brown complexion. He is of medium build.
This brings to 31 the number of homicides recorded in the Bahamas for 2004.
