Road Deaths In Bahamas Surpass Last Year’s Toll

The recent spate of fatalities on Bahamian roads continued this weekend with a further two deaths recorded.

Already this year 39 people have lost their lives throughout the country in traffic accidents – nine in the past two weeks.

Following the death of a member of the police force on Friday evening, police on Saturday recorded the deaths of another two men, one in Nassau, one in Andros.

Speaking with The Tribune yesterday afternoon, Chief Superintendent Hulan Hanna said that police are now very concerned as last year’s fatality total of 35 has already been passed, “and the year is not even out yet”.
