A head-on traffic collision in Eleuthera on Saturday has left two people dead and a third suffering head injuries.
The deaths bring the traffic count to 41 for the year.
Over the past month 11 people have lost their lives in traffic deaths.
With two more months left in the year, the country has exceeded by six the number of lives claimed on Bahamian roads in 2003, when thirty-five people died as a result of traffic accidents.
When asked to comment on the growing number of fatalities, Chief Superintendent Hulan Hanna said the issue was one that has law enforcement extremely concerned.
