Thje Exuma Chamber of Commerce is to be re-launched to enable the island’s business community to capitalize on the wave of new development taking place in that group of islands. The decision was taken at a meeting on October 18, 2004 by a group of concerned residents.
Reginald Smith, Chairman of the steering committee, said, “With the influx of new developments and businesses on the island, this is an opportune time to relaunch the Exuma Chamber of Commerce.” He added that many of the businesses, particularly small businesses, would benefit tremendously from the many services offered by the Chamber.
A membership drive is presently underway and letters are being sent to both individuals and businesses in the community to become part of this much-needed organisation.
The Exuma Chamber of Commerce was originally established in 1984.
