Old Bahama Bay Set To Reopen

“We are pleased with the progress of our recovery and we are eager to open on December 23,” said Bob Kramm, Chief Operating Officer of Old Bahama Bay. “Our team is filled with great enthusiasm and our business forecast looks favourable.

“The Yacht Harbour is now open and accepting overnight guests at a dollar per foot with only limited services available, noted Harbour Master Peter Watson. “When all the hotel amenities are fully operational marina dockage fees will return to full rates.”

The Old Bahama Bay team is excited they will open in time for the holiday season and the planned ‘A Christmas Affair’ celebration in their Aqua fine dining restaurant will launch them back in full service. This special Christmas dinner will feature an all you can eat buffet and will begin at 11:30 a.m. and will continue until 4:00 p.m. Christmas day.

The Christmas menu will be both traditional and unique, as it will also feature seafood for the visitors who truly want to taste Bahamian cuisine while on vacation. An added feature will be entertainment by the ‘Old Bahama Bay Staff Choir,’ which will highlight Bahamian and traditional Christmas Carols. For those who want a truly unique New Year’s experience Old Bahama Bay is inviting Grand Bahamians to think about a weekend excursion to the West. New Year’s dinner will have two seatings, at 5:30 p.m. for $65.00 per person and a second seating at 8:30 p.m. which includes an open bar, hors d’oeuvres, a bottle of Champagne per couple, party favours and of course a midnight count down for $130.00 per person. The New Year’s menu includes appetizer, salad and an entr�e choice of Beef Wellington, Surf and Turf or Duck ‘Normandy’ with a Baked Alaska Flamb� to top it all off. To help you work off the glorious meal, Old Bahama Bay will feature a live Junkanoo performance, entertainment by The West End Love Train and fireworks for all its guests.

For Freeporters, these event dinners sound great but they may worry about the long drive, lucky for them the resort is offering a great West End Holiday Break package. Just in time for our long holidays this year the resort is offering reduced room rates over the holiday for Bahamian residents for only $199 per room, double occupancy (two adults, two kids) for a two-night minimum. The resort will accept dinner and celebration reservations at the time of hotel booking. The nightly room rate also includes complimentary boat dockage. This special rate is valid December 23 through January 3, 2006.

The resort has also announced that the popular “Gospel Sunday Brunch” will also return with the re-opening of the resort. Held at the Dockside Grille restaurant, the brunch offers delicious food, a complimentary glass of champagne and great entertainment which features a live gospel performance by the employee choir, the West End Gospel Revival Singers. The gospel singers also perform at Aqua restaurant, which offers a special menu for elegant dining. Old Bahama Bay invites and encourages church choirs to perform and those that do will be presented with a $100 donation to take back to their church. “Gospel Sunday Brunch” will be available every week from 11:30 a.m. ヨ 3 p.m. with live gospel music from 1 p.m. ヨ 3 p.m.
