Police say the first incident occurred around 6pm when a male and female were fighting through Oodle Corner.
Reports indicate that a 15-year-old boy attempted to stop the fight, but consequently received stab wounds to the chest area.
The young male was rushed to hospital, where his condition was last listed as stable.
Two hours later, police were called to the scene of a similar incident in the Cambridge Street area.
Police reports reveal that at the time two female teenagers – one a 17-year-old, the other a 15-year-old – were locked in an altercation.
According to Police Inspector, Walter Evans, the older girl threw corrosive acid on the younger one, resulting in burns to the face and the left side of the body.
Police say the 15-year-old is in serious condition.
Police are however confident that both matters will be concluded rather quickly.
